Biography

Kenneth Karlin, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a fellowship in glaucoma.  He is a past president of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology, a past president of the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  He has been cited in the Washingtonian Top Doctors List consecutively for the last twenty years and in the Best Doctors List for the last 16 years.  He has served the Commonwealth of Virginia as a member of the Board of Opticians, first appointed by Governor Allen in 1994 for a four year term and then reappointed by Governor Gilmore for a second four year term.  In 1985, he founded the Lions Inova Glaucoma Clinic for indigent patients.

In 2007, Dr. Karlin was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and in 2008, he received the Presidential Award from the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society.
